Lucas Griebeler da Motta is a U.S.- and Brazil-qualified attorney admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of California. He works with the firm on complex matters involving U.S. and Latin American jurisdictions, with a particular focus on commercial disputes, regulatory matters, investigations, unfair competition and business torts, and cross-border issues.
Lucas supports the firm’s business and commercial disputes practice in matters involving fraud, financial misconduct, unfair competition and business torts, asset tracing, sanctions-related issues, and international evidence gathering, including proceedings under 28 U.S.C. § 1782. He also brings experience in transactional and corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, distressed assets, and special situations, which gives him a practical understanding of the business and strategic issues that often underlie disputes.
Before joining Aranovich Law Firm, PC as Of Counsel, Lucas practiced at Hogan Lovells in the United States and Baker McKenzie in Brazil. He also served as a senior global advisor to a consulting firm based in London, adding to his experience with international strategy and cross-border matters.
Lucas holds an LL.M. from the University of Chicago Law School and an LL.B. from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul. His background in both U.S. and Brazilian legal systems allows him to help clients navigate sophisticated matters with international, regulatory, and multi-jurisdictional dimensions.
